“French system” treating raw unsettled sewage in a 2 stage vertical flow reed bed filter

 

1st stage 300 m² (4 * 75 m²), fed directly by a siphon after coarse, manual screening only.

 

2nd stage 200 (2 * 100 m²) m², fed by a siphon installed inside the drainage layer of stage 1

 

No electricity on site  - just one sludge removal in 20 years of operation
